Alex Acevedo is the founder of the Peekskill Fencing Center. He has been involved in fencing since 1989 and has been teaching at the Center since 2003 primarily in foil. He competed on the Brooklyn College Fencing team. Alex hold coaches certifications from national and international organizations.
Joseph Paterno comes to us from a long career in fencing that started in Long Island. He has competed on the national level and is the winner of multiple Sectional Titles in Long Island. Joe is happy to be back in fencing and looks forward to seeing our fencers in the Nationals.
Max Catala comes to us after coaching at several area colleges. Max was the Head Coach at Brooklyn, Hunter, Jersey State College and New York Univeristy's Womens' Fencing Team.
Max is coordinating our Junior Olympic program and is an accomplished coach in all three weapons.
Cal Schlick is Head Fencing Coach at Mamaroneck High School and has been involved in fencing for over 50 years. He competed and coached at John Hopkins University, coached at the U.S. Naval Academy where his teams won the NCAA Championships in all three weapons. Cal is an accomplished teacher in all three weapons, foil, epee and sabre. He has won medals in National and International competitions.
